meeting people on the road...

Not hard to meet people on the road. When we stop for gas or food or for pawndog to visit facility...he drinks too much coffee...we meet people.Non bikers want to know where we are from and why seemingly rational grownups would want to ride motorcycles all that distance when they could take a perfectly comfortable 45 foot motorhome. (I asked myself the same question near the end of the day today) ..Course the bikers see us as brothers-in-arms and want to compare notes. It's funny, now that we are headed south we are viewed as the wiley veterans. We pull into gas stops and the guys headed north see our dirt encrusted bikes and hundred mission riding gear and want to know everything.Where we are from, where did we go,how many miles, and the critical question..."did you make it to the circle"? "Yep" we reply with our best John Wayne swagger. Next question, "what was it like"? Our response, "you boys be very careful up there, you are in for some surprises".....Gives 'em something to think about as they head on up the road......boog
