speaking of mosquitos, these Klondike mosquitos are vicious.Any time we stop, within 15 seconds dozens of the beasts descend on us like they haven't eaten in weeks. They fly in your nose, ears, eyes and whatever orifice is exposed. There is no escape other than leave on the helmet and gloves(faceshield down)or wear mosquito netting(looks goofy) Wonder what those little suckers eat if no V-strom or BMW GS rider in available? I digress...We ride another 60-70 miles further north but it starts to rain.Gets slick. We decide the better part of valor would be to turn around and head back to Eagle Plains.Don't want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere on impassable roads. After a good night of sleep in the Eagle Plains "Hilton" we head back to Dawson City a distance of 230 miles.Poked along on relatively dry roads trying to see wildlife.Didn't see much.couple of squirrels,a rabbitt,Beaver said he saw a fox.Mongo almost hit a ptarmigan.Strange thing ,we see periodic road kill.A motor vehicle happens by maybe once per hour and the critters choose that particular moment in time to cross the road! Remarkably poor planning. Not sure about tomorrows plans except headed south......boog
