Yellowstone...

Rolled out of Missoula this AM and headed for Yellowstone. At the beginning of trip we had toured the western side of Yellowstone so on the way back we wanted to explore eastern side.About 200 mi. to get there but we had a pretty fierce quartering head wind which was beating us around. It was fairly warm when we rolled and by midmorning was getting dang hot.I usually like to start out overdressed and shed clothing as needed.By 9AM vest gone,by10AM jacket liner gone,by 11AM all jacket vents wide open and still hot.By the time we reached Jellystone temp 96 degrees but we endure.East Jelly is different from the western side in that it is very dry...little rainfall so not much green.Grass is all brown and trees are evergreen but sparsely situated in scattered clusters around the mountains.Uniquely beautiful though.Today being Sunday had lots of tourists piddlling along the roads and stopping without warning if they got any glimpse of a furry creature. If any car stopped all those behind assumed he saw something and they all stopped to get in on the action. All the cars doors would fling open and hoards of tourists would bail out, cameras firing in all directions...boog
