Train ride to Seward

Got up bright and early and took a 4-hour train ride to Seward. Magnificent views through the Alaskan countryside with good opportunities for lots of photos. Seward is a neat little sea-side town. Boarded a charter boat and toured Prince William Sound all afternoon. Saw lots of creatures including eagles, many shore birds, including tufted puffins that look a lot like pawn dog, and also saw humpback whales and orcas. The mountains around Prince William Sound are magnificent with numerous glaciers. We cruised the boat in close to one of the glaciers, shut the engines off, and listened to the glacier groan and crack as it dropped ice into the water. Spectacular. Came back on the train and just arrived (it is 11:00 p.m.)
Tomorrow we are back on the bikes and headed up and across the Denali highway.
